Does anyone know of a compatable modem for my PEG T 615 C?
I've always had Palm pilots and I used my modem ALL THE TIME, with MultiMail and Palmscape.
Now, I look for a modem all day.

Overall, I am very happy with the Sony.

check the brando site. i think they have one.

the other way to go is to connect to a cellphone using IR or bluetooth. i do that with my Ericsson T39.

I'm glad someone has the answer, only what is the "brando" site? I have visions of the actor from "On the Waterfront" shouting Stella! STELLA! I coulda been a contendah.

Psion IR 56K modem works just fine.

Thanks for the tip. I checked out Psion's web site and like what I saw.

By the way, Marlon Brando's famous speech was from "A Streetcar Named Desire," not "On the Waterfront" as I had previously written. Sorry for the error, movie buffs.

Watch E-bay, you can pick up a Psion IR for $50.00 - $60.00 by watching and waiting.

I currently have a Palm 515 and about to buy a T615C. I only have 3 things that I need to clear first before buying: Does Sony support bluetooth? Can I use an NT4 operating system? And is there a way I can use a serial cable?

Somebody said bluetooth is supported. Is this thru a memory stick (similar to the SD bluetooth of Palm)? Thanks!

I bought the Psion IR modem too, and thanks to Elbowz' help, got it working fine too.

Also have the excellent Nokia 6310i for when I'm away from a landline.

Works easily as well as the Psion, and was just £49 upgrade on contract with Orange.

One very happy bunny, thanks to help on this forum. Ta chaps!

I'm very interested getting one of these modems... but how exactly do they work?

Do I buy a modem to plug into my clie?

Do I use a program and beam information through an ir modem, and if so, I have dsl. Will it still work? Do I have to get a new web provider?

Can I use it as a wireless modem?

This is so confusing...my mind is getting dizzy tring to undestand.\

Psion IR Modem - PSTN connections only, i.e. connects to a regular telephone socket only. Works quite well so long as you can maintain line of sight between the IR eyes on the Clie and modem.

For your DSL connection you need to get the Clie onto the network. If you have a PC with a DSL modem connected then your alternatives are a) Creating a PPP connection over IR to the PC and b) Bluetooth cards for your PC and Clie. The first method is pointless to all but the truly masochistic (if you're that close to your PC then you might as well use it) and the second is expensive, although it does allow you a certain amount of freedom to roam.

If you have a DSL router then you need a Bluetooth card for the Clie and a Bluetooth LAN access point. This is also expensive but at least you don't need to leave your PC turned on all the time you are surfing on the Clie.

My Clie connects to the network as follows:
Clie Bluetooth MS installed, paired with
Laptop with USB Bluetooth adaptor and LAN card.
Windows is configured to bridge the LAN and BT connections (XP) or Mocha is set to allow PPP connections (Win98).

Actually, my Laptop connects to a Wifi network so to get from the wall to my Clie the signal travels down CAT V cable to the Wifi access point, over the air as a Wifi signal to my laptop and gets sent out over Bluetooth to my Clie...

Thanks for the information.

It's too bad I live here in US, we don't have all those fun stuff like bluetooth for the clie, and definitely no Wi FI. I guess I have to wait for the t665 modem to come over here to the states, like they have in japan. THanks for the info though!:( :(

The MD700 is a sled type modem which only supports the N and S series Clies...
