Could someone explain to me the advantages and disadvantages of these and which one is the most useful?!

I am by far no expert, but here is what I know. the Compact Flash slot is a lot more versatile in terms of what can be used, e.g. wireless lan, GPS, etc. The advantage of using CF is its price advantage over SD.

SDs advantage (if you want to call it that) is the slot is purely for memory (I think). The disadvantage is the slight increase in price over CF.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

an SD slot can be used for expansion, but you have to make sure its a SDIO (input/output) slot, not just a regular SD slot. The CF type II slot is also IO, thats why it can be used for memory or lots of things. I think CF is better for everything really, one card can hold up to 5gb, one SD card can hold up to 2GB, so if your willing to spend a lot for a 5 gb card, thats a lot of storage space.

Cf cards are multipurpose....I.E. bluetooth, wifi, memory (up to 3 gig from pretec) gps, and a lot of other things.
SD is solely memory except a bluetooth I think and tends to cost much more than CF. I myself am using a 128mb cf and 128mb sd card. It would be nice if there were dual cf slots instead of one sd and one cf.....

Hi there,
I am not a PDA user yet, but hopefully will be one soon...

For listening to music, can CF be used for the storage? If yes, price is definitely an advantage over SD as MP3 files take up lot of storage space (about 3MB per song).:)

SanDisk announced a combination memory - wireless card schedule for release around March 03.

Maybe we will see more uses for the SD port.
