I am thinking about a PocketPC and I like the features of the Axim. Since I am coming from the Palm world (Sony Clie 760) I have nothing to judge the processor speed against. I will be mostly doing wifi (with CF 802.11b), picture viewing (showing off kid photos) and playing games.

Will I notice the difference between the 300 and 400 mhz processors?

Thanks...

No u won't notice the difference. From what you're saying, I would buy the 300mhz and for the extra $100 you saved, you can buy a CF wireless D-Link card from bestbuy for $39 after rebate and also you can buy yourself a SD 128mb card for about $50. SInce you store pictures, you'll need the extra capacity.

You wont notice a difference now, because the Xscale processor is not optimized for to many programs, i've read many reviews that have said the Xscale is future proof, so i would go with the 400mhz, but i'm not you, so its your decision.

daman is right...my friend got a 400mhz for xmas while I got a 300mhz (but lots of extras ;) ) We both have Argentum and Everquest on ours and I compared them. They run exactly the same. They look exactly the same too....

Thanks...I think I will go with the 300 for now and spend the extra on the wifi and extra memory.

i can give 2 reasons to buy the 400 1.) in a month or two you will put a NEW game on it and you will need more horsepower (the xscale runs only as fast as it needs to to save power so on apps that don't need the speed they appear the same but when you need it it is there) 2.) the waiting time for the 300 is a couple of weeks or more plus shipping time, I got my 400 in LESS than two days with overnight shipping!
