It has a monochrome screen, a slow processor, and is bulky. If you want wieless, you will probably want the Handspring Treo or the new Tungsten W (although they are lacking graffitti.) tuffguy 01-14-2003, 11:07 AM Little-man has brought up something that has been bugging me with the Treo and forthcoming Tungsten W... why no graffiti? Those little horse-crap thumbboards would drive me absolutely baty. Graffiti is very easy to learn and is much quicker that the silkscreen keyboard or thumbpad could ever hope to be. So what's up with that? tuff JohnKes 01-14-2003, 11:55 AM The Tungsten W is supposed to come with Jot, which allows you to use the main screen to write on for text input. I think Jot is more similar to standard letters, so it will be easier than Grafitti to learn but it will take many more strokes. The Treos have a deal to get RecoEcho for a reduced price. It lets you do Grafitti on the main screen. ebisix 01-25-2003, 03:52 PM Originally posted by JohnKes The Tungsten W is supposed to come with Jot, which allows you to use the main screen to write on for text input. Here are a few reasons why I say so. There are many ways to do a letter. You can fine tune letters that give you trouble. You can switch to Graffiti mode at least in the trial. You can write anywhere on the screen. It shows you what you are writing as you do it. There are a lot of advanced options. However, as I said, I didn't use it long so I'm not sure how everyone else will like it. You may want to try the trial. Just make sure to disable the program before you delete it. macmetal666 02-03-2003, 01:07 PM skip the i705 and go for the samsung 1300 ($199) the only thing you dont get is the expansion slot (memory is 8mb) but you get the phone and the modem for a lot less than the 700 sries palms. STAY AWAY FROM ANY TREO!!!!!! i am a tech for sprint pcs and customers treos have been returned in monster numbers (over 60%) with major defects within the first year of operation! most of the problems are with batteries ,the flip and the lack of quality in the construction. ever drop your pda? with the treo your first time may be the last time! kris little-man 02-03-2003, 01:36 PM That doesn't only apply to Trios. Most handspring PDAs are fairly easy to break. Look for Visors on eBay, and almost every third listing will be broken! ebisix 02-03-2003, 02:55 PM Also check out the new Samsung i500. PDA Street
