Since its a setting, I wasn't sure how to create something like a shortcut and send it to a startup folder or something like that. Anyone able to do something like this?

after you start the swticher bar, every time you turn the Axim off and on it will stay on. if you reset the Axim, that is the only time the switcher will turn off. Yes, if you really want you can create a shortcut, and put it in the startup folder, so switcher is running after hitting reset.

Try WISBAR good app. (FREEWARE) Works better than switch bar.

Great suggestion! I just downloaded and installed WISbar and I like it a lot! I really like having the time & date always showing on the bar, and I like the ability to "Close all but active tasks". Very, very nice.

Thanks for sharing this one.

I believe that "switcher bar" is one of the WEAKEST programs that I have ever seen. Who thought of this garb anyway? If someone closes a program, it's because they want it closed. Also, if you notice something is open, and you dont want to close everything, then you have enter back into that program before you can shut it down.

WisBar.... MUCH BETTER!!!

ChrizzaiN. Check this out. On your PDA with out switchBar or Wis bar open some programs and close them. Once you close the go to memory from your home button. Click on the runnign programs tab. Are there running programs.

They are on mine. To really close a program with switch bar, click close current program or all programs. Not the (X) or (OK) Some of us are just misinformed. I had the same problem. Now I have more space by not adding another redundant program to my memory.

yeah. I understand fully how that works. I am just saying that I believe Muchostiff did a poor design job with having to run a third party app to be able to close out a program. This should have been designed into the OS. I know that you can "close all running programs" throught the memory link. What I was saying in my previous post is that Switcher Bar should have been designed like Wis bar, where the [X] could also close an app.

Well switcher bar was made by Dell to address the lack of the proper x in the PocketPC OS.

Oh, and since we are on a intel chip, which of the 3 chips for the download would work best? arm, mips, sh3 etc?

ARM

ChrizzaiN, So the only difference between WizBar and Swither is; the (X) on all apps closes clompletely with Wizbar. Not worth the taken up space. Other programs not included in the OS would better take up the space on my Ax. Thanx for the 411.

Read ya later

And you are concerned about space on an X5 64/48? Man how many programs are you running and have you heard of expansion slots. I have about 30 ebooks, 15 or so large pocket maps and 7 or so extra programs installed and still have 21.5 and 61.4 available.

Learn to use that slot, you will enjoy you pocket pc. If not it will be like the old Win 3.11 days where you have to get rid of one thing to install another. Don't we all love those HUGE hard drives now.
