Hi, Jornada 680 users.
I am just curious what do you have in settings for Ifrared Modem?
On my machine, when I am trying to configure IRDA modem in HP Dial UP (all versions, including lates 2.0), it shows a list of available modems with "Irda Raw Modem Com:4"
While Irda modem sits on Com3
Do I have special version of Jornada or these settings are on all machines?
Thanks in advance

you have to DL a IR modem driver for your handphone...the jornada cannot connect with a raw Ir modem port...

Hi there,
Don't you have a "Generic IrDA Modem" option in the dial-up settings? It should work with any phone with a built-in modem.

Hi,
I have "Raw IR Port on COM4" and problem is that there is no IR port on COM4 - it is on COM3 and I can't change it.
I have reply from HP that HP 680 can't be used to access Internet via IR mobile phone, however saw lots of posts on forum regarding this issue and looks like some people on this planet can do it (but not me).
Please help who has HP 680 working with mobile via Infrared

I have a Jornada 720 now, but i checked out my boss' 680 (actually my old unit), and Codling is right -- you'll need a modem driver for your mobile phone.
In fact, I just installed a Nokia 6210 modem driver in his machine, and it works like a clock.
You'll probably find a suitable driver at your phone manufacturer's website. Good luck.
