I've got a 760 that works perfectly, charges in the cradle no problem. I can't seem to get it to charge with the AC adapter that comes with device. I've tried everything with no luck - any ideas?

Hi!

Sorry to state the blindingly obvious, but are you sure the adaptor is working OK? You could check the DC voltage is coming from the connector with a meter, but sometimes the actual contacts on the connectors are hard to identify and even harder to reach with a probe. Other than that, could you try a swap with someone else's adaptor? At least then you'd know if it's the adaptor that's faulty!

The power specifications of the AC Adapter. ( PEGA AC10 )

NOTES:

The AC adapter can be used for travel abroad without a power converter when the power source has an input of AC 100-240V 50/60 Hz.
It may be necessary to use an AC plug adapter to connect to the power outlets in certain countries.

Input: AC 100-240V 50/60 Hz 0.26A

Output: DC 5.2V 2000mA

To charge the battery on the handheld.

Plug the AC adapter into an active electrical outlet.
On the plug adapter, connect the AC adapter to the DC IN port.
NOTE: The supplied plug adapter is needed when connecting AC power or a USB cable.

On the bottom of the handheld, connect the plug adapter.
Allow the handheld to charge for 5 minutes.
Turn on the handheld.
Ensure the battery indicator [FIG. 1] is indicating the battery is charging.
Turn off the handheld and allow it to charge for at least 4 hours.
After charging for at least 4 hours, use the handheld normally.
NOTE: When not charging, the battery indicator [FIG. 2] will display the amount of charge remaining in the battery.

the ac adapter doesn't have a plug to go into the dc in - only one end into the wall and another into the bottom of the clie. The battery icon never shows it's being charged with the ac adapter connected - only on the cradle. Any ideas?

Hi, I have some problems when using the charger alone with the palm without the cradle.

But it seems to be a contact problem. The connector in the charger isn't making enough contact with the palm's connector.

Try pressing the connector a little harder moving it up and down in the handheld... if you see the battery charging, then try cleaning your palm's connector. Be careful not to damage the connector or the palm!

Alexandre.

ps: the connector only charges when i put it in a particular position... :)
