Has anyone tried v0.95 of this FTP server on a netBook+Ethernet connection? It appears to run okay on the netBook, but the lack of username and password support make it impossible for me to connect using any of the FTP clients that I have on my PC. It also tells me that I'm not connected when I actually am - Email does this too with my 158 install - and informs me that my IP address is 0.0.0.0 or leaves it blank.
Any ideas?
Thanks

nFTP v 1.31, which I think is part of the 158 load (Diem?) works fine on my netBook to my office server - in fact combine this with nConvert and XConvert and you have a pretty nifty VPN equivalent.
It has passwords and everything.
All it needs is IP printing!

Yup, I have used it and it works great! Just put in <Netbook's IP address>:25 and it should work fine. (that is the IP address followed by port number25). In fact, using Fetch (FTP client) on my iMac I didn't even have to insert the port number (I think it gets added automatically anyway as the default ftp port). There is no need for Username and password as the FTP server does not provide that facility anyway. So just make sure you don't attach your netbook to a network that might leave you files open to undesirables....!

Note that Victor's programme is an FTP *server* and not an FTP *client* like nFTP et al. An FTP server should allow you to transfer files between Psion's over (say) a wireless Network.
A quick searck on Googley reveals that Victor's FTP server can be found at :-
http://www.psionplace.com/software/series5/FTP-Server-for-EPOC-0-2003-1-8-psion-series5.html
And victor's Psion pages at :-

Interesting that we are seeing quite a bit of useful EPOC ware coming out of Russia. Keep up the good work...
