I have been getting an error message when I launch MS Reader. It states that "The data is invalid. (0xc7ce000d)" Has anyone experienced this? I have reloded the software more times than I can count and a soft reset doesn't help. At this point I'm not prepared to do a hard reset. Any suggestions?

Also does anyone know of a different (multi function) ebook reader that will work with ebooks formatted in MS Reader and other types?

Thanks for your help.

I started to use Microsoft Reader, but it would not read any of my .pdf files. I went to Adobe's websight and downloaded Acrobat reader for pocket pc. You might want to try that.

Ebooks are .LIT files and read by Microsoft reader or other Ebook reading software. PDF files are an Adobe creation and thus the reason for the need of that software.

I have only had a few problems with the Reader software and that was with the Encarta Dicty and Encyclopedia, otherwise, all is well.

There are other sharewares around to do those same functions.

Your problem might be a little deeper than you think. The MS Reader is installed on your ROM. That explains why you are getting the same error when you restart. The question is; Have you been using your "Built-in Memory" an exesive amount? This could lead to corruption of your ROM.

I don't use my built in much, the only items that I really put there are programs and my mail attachments are saved to the build in storage. I almost always have 50 - 75% of my built in memory availible - I use 1GB microdrives and a 256 SD card.

How can this lead to ROM Corruption?

ROM does not clear on a soft reset I believe. A hard reset will yank the ROM back to factory. A soft reset will not touch either RAM or ROM. A Hard reset will attack them however.

I finally caved and decided the only way I was going to fix this was to perform a hard rest - rebuilding the ppc right now. thanks for everyones help.

Everytime you put, move or delete something from your flash memory. Your ROM is being modified. I finally got a 64MB SD, form now on that is what I will use. Only Progema installs will go there, if I like them alot.
