I have a Blackberry 957. I have windows xp and outlook 2002. It seems to take 2-10 minutes sometimes for the message to appear on the blackberry. I am using Desktop Manager 3.5 and the newest redirector. It seemed to be instant when I was using windows 98 and outlook 2000. Has anyone had this same problem?

I haven't had this particular problem (nor my customers running XP) if anything, I've had reports about "port issues" with XP but no delays in email.
As for Outlook 2002, that could be the issue... here's the tech stuff from RIM's site (unless someone else out there has something otherwise):
*Microsoft Outlook® 97, Outlook 98/2000 (Corporate or Workgroup Installation) or Lotus Notes® 4.6/5.0 (for enterprise email integration)
*Email account on a Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5/2000 or Lotus Domino Server version 4.6/5.0 (for enterprise email integration)
*Internet/email enabled PC with an Intel486™ processor or higher
*Windows® 95/98/ME/2000/XP or Windows NT® 4.0 SP4 or higher
*One available serial port
*Organizer Support:
ACT!™ 3.0.8/4.0.2/2000
ASCII Text File Importer/Exporter
GoldMine® 3.2/4.0
GroupWise® 5.2/5.5
Lotus Notes 4.5/4.6/5.0
Lotus Organizer® GS/4.1
Lotus Organizer 2.12/5.0/97
Microsoft Outlook® 97/98/2000/2002 (XP)
Microsoft Schedule+ Browse File
Microsoft Schedule+ Default
Netscape®
Outlook Express 4.0
*** Just interesting that the note Outlook 2002 support as an "organizer", but don't include it in the first bullet point for email clients. Again, Redirector works directly with Exchange. Do you have Redirector running WITHOUT Outlook 2002 running?

The blackberry is hooked up to com 2. Outlook 2002 is running at the same time as the redirector. What do you mean by - note Outlook 2002 support as an "organizer", but don't include it in the first bullet point for email clients?
Thanks

nothing in particular, I just noticed on their site (line #1 from my previous post) when they talk about Outlook requirements, they say: Microsoft Outlook® 97, Outlook 98/2000 (Corporate or Workgroup Installation) ... could be they just haven't updated their website.
However, a couple lines down, they reference Outlook 2002 as being supported for PIM sync.
In a nutshell, Redirector is designed to basicall "mirror" the process that Outlook uses to pull new email off your Exchange Mailbox and onto your client. Difference is, Redirector goes a few steps further and encrypts the email and sends it out to your network.
Try running Redirector w/ Outlook closed... also, to troubleshoot, I'd be interested in know if you're having any lag time in send emails DIRECTLY from your Outlook to an internet email address (ie; yahoo, aol, another company's email account). I ask because the encrypted email goes out your SMTP port (along with all your other email). If you have "lag" with simply sending email, it's an SMTP issue and your companies help desk should be able to fix.

Do you have a MS Exchange Server or are you running a POP3 setup that your Outlook Client connects to.
Outlook 2002 works fine with Desktop redirector.

No lag time in sending or recv'ng messages to internet mail accounts. We use exchange. The slowness occured after i syncnd the calendar using the intellisync part in the desktop software. Are there any speciacl settings i need to be aware of when doing the pim sync?
