I have a wireless network card for my Axim. I was wondering if there was a program that I could call someone over the Internet with my Axim (using the microphone and speaker). I was orignally looking for something that would act like a free cell phone, that called any phone, but even Pocket PC to Computer is ok too. Please tell me about any programs available.
Thanks. :)

That is an interesting concept, VoIP from PPC. The only problem I see with that is that the Net2Phone folks and the like would not let that service go free. Just like when they started out it was free, and now it is a subscription service. Although still much cheaper than long distance rates. For now MSNM should have a voice option.

I have already tried Microsoft Portrait, but it isn't working properly. The computers won't accept these calls. So, this program is gone. If there are any more programs, I would appreciate it if one of you could post one.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks for the site. I downloaded a program called Symphone, but it costs $3,000 to buy a 10 client liscence pack. Can someone help me with getting a free phone program for my Dell Axim?
Thanks,
Karthik:)

I don't know how well this would work anyway. Have you heard the recording quality on these Axims? I think they put a "low quality" mic in these.

I have found a software that can make phone calls using your PDA.
Take a look at it: http://www.iphone.shows.it

I have this program, but it doesn't make calls to regular telephones. I think that I need a telephony server to do that. Now i have realized it isn't really possible unless I had one. But if anyone has any other programs that have Voice over Ip and most important, calls to regular telephones, please keep looking and post some new items. Thanks!

Well actually NOT. They only set the mic on the lowest sound quality.Change the settings and you'll be happy.
