revo cascade game
 

anybody know how to put the cascade game from my old revo into my new 5mx, or is it downloadable on the net somewhere, super little game ,miss it loads.:cool:

Cascade is in ROM on the Revo so there's no way to transfer it to another Psion. There are a number of Cascade clones available though. Check the software section here and at www.tucows.com .

Or more specifically, download SameGame from http://www.epoczone.com/jon/samegame.php3 . SameGame is the *cough* same game as Cascade. ;) Both were written by Jon Read. SameGame came first for the 5/mx and then he did a deal with Psion to include the reworked game (renamed Cascade) in the revo.

There is a similar game called "TileFall", downloadable from Tucows, which I like because it runs in colour on my netBook. :)

Hi all Cascade / Samegame lovers ;o)

I've modified the original SameGame, written by Jon Read (with his permission), to adapt to the bigger screen of the etBook / Series 7 and WINS Emulator.

Now Full colorisation and sound are included.
The sounds are the same that are used in Cascade on the Revo.

However, I see that the battery guage in the toolbar is broken; hopefully the
toolbar is not just loaded from the Z drive (C & D checked first), so that
a fixed toolbar module will be used.

It uses the Z: drive toolbar. it get's fixed allright by the toolbarpatcher.

I'll try to release a new build in a couple of day's that scans the c, d and e drives first ;)

I've been wanting to do this myself for ages and had e-mailed Jon Read as such.

Glad it's done. I did get very addicted to the game when it was on my Revo (then my 5mx). Never saw the point on the S7, just wanted colour...

I've asked Jon too.... He told me he didn't want to at that time, so i asked him for permission to do it. He told me it was ok to do so...

Since I used the Psion 5 and 5mx my gf always asked me if i'd take my psion with me on the holidays...
Of course I said, but why do you ask ?

"Well, i'd like to play some samegame !!!!" LOL

Since i got my netBook i was looking into migrating some useful apps to color; Samegame beeing one of these.

But for some other programs it's difficult. Most software is copyrighted or shareware and can't be modified without the authors conscent.

I've been developing a heavily modified version of Extrabars wit full color support and the good silk-screen mapping. Problem is, i can't do anything with it, because the author doesn't respond to my email....... :mad:

Julie was right, though - downloaded & installed it straight away and it did nothing for my 'office hours' productivity!... nice job! :)

One small suggestion I have is to incorporate the installation ReadMe (html file), so as to be fully accessible from within the app (in the Help option).

Also, maybe a 225 ball option, for those who want to compete against their own Revo high scores and if so, perhaps, the facility to import Revo High Scores.

Looking at your website for the first time, I also wanted to say how heartening it is, as an ER5 'punter', to see a new Psion site being launched, especially with the promise of fresh apps and colour conversions.

Look forward to seeing what the next treat you have for us is! :)

I'm surprised to hear that you've been developing a heavily modified version of ExtraBars as Jason protected it pretty carefully against reverse translation. I discussed it with him at some length at the time as we were both victims of some program hacking a few years back...
