Axim x5 won't turn on, is it dead?

Hi, I have a Dell axim x5 that I use exclusively as a GPS. I make sure to keep it fully charged with my home charger and my car adapter. Today I came back from a trip and turned off the axim when i got to my house, like I normally do. When I went back to turn it on again it wouldn't turn on. I thought maybe the battery was low but after charging it for 3 hours with my home charger it still won't turn on. The power button turns red right after I plug it in and then goes to green a few seconds later. Whenever it is unplugged there is no light (except for the light on the CF gps unit that is connected to it) I can not turn thePDA on even when it is plugged in. I have tried holding down the power button and that also does not work. Any idea what the problem might be? Can the unit just "die" like this for no reason?

Thanks
og5

i'd try a soft reset first, then a hard one, but you will loose data with a hard one so make it the last resort.

Call dell?
