Unhappy Reset Loop?

Hello,

My Ique has gone crazy!
I had a problem with a hotsynch which caused it to reset half way through the synch. I did a soft reset but every time I tapped the house symbol on the grafitti area it reset again. I repeated this a few times and now when I try both hard and soft resets it flashes the Palm powered symbol and then goes blank again repeating the process every second not giving me the chance to tap anything. What have I done?

Two suggestions:

Make sure you are doing the hard reset properly.

I have read that in some cases letting the battery run all the way down fixed the problem.

Try leaving the antenna out and the iQue on, not powered, until it completely exhausts itself. When it's completely dead, no lights, won't even try to turn on, plug the power cable directly into the pin input and wait about 20 minutes. Then hit the reset button without unplugging the power. That should do it.

Thanks guys for the advice, when the battery runs out how should I do a hard reset? I have been keeping the pin in the reset button whilst simultaneously keeping my finger on the power button for 10 seconds, is this correct?

Once the power runs out completely a hard reset should not be necessary, just the soft reset. If you still need to do the hard type check the sticky at the top of the forum.

Well, thanks to you both I have her back to normal having followed your advice. Ironically I emailed Garmin about this 2 days before posting this thread and they have just emailed me back stating I should return the unit with a covering letter explaining the fault. Glad I came to you guys, you should be working for Garmin!!

I think we are working for Garmin, sort of...
At least in the widest interpretation of "for".
