mysterious Hotsync problem

hey guys,

I have a recurring event in my calendar. The event recurs weekly on Thursday afternoons. The event started August 22, 2002. On January 23, 2003 I deleted all future occurences of the event on Palm desktop. I hotsynced immediately afterwards and noticed the deletions of future occurrences were not reflected in my Clie. I've hotsynced several times since and the difference between my Clie and Palm desktop persists. The Clie shows the event continuing without end while Palm desktop shows the event ending January 23.

I've been making other changes in Palm desktop that are correctly changed on the Clie. Any ideas why this one event is not properly hotsynced but other events are handled correctly?

How do you have your HotSync set up? You might want to have your options set to "Handheld overwrites Desktop." At least for one occasion. Another thing to look at is whether or not the rest of your Datebook is syncing over alright. I recently had to reinstall the Desktop because the Datebook conduit mysteriously disappeared. Just a couple of suggestions.

My DateBook hotsync is set "Synchronize the files" and as far as I can tell every other event syncs fine. I've been deleting and changing other events and they sync perfectly.

hey guys,

I just realized something, when I create a weekly recurring event with no enddate on my clie and hotsync, the event properly appears on Palm Desktop. When I delete "future" occurrences of the just created event on Palm Desktop and hotsync again, the deletion of "future" occurrences is not reflected on the clie.

Could one of you guys do what I did and tell me if your handhelds do the same thing mine did? Thanks.

I tried this with my Palm 515 and no problem. Perhaps it is unique to SONY.
