email and opera time out with Mocha PPP

Not sure how many people are familiar with Mocha PPP although i know Julie is.

I had connected to the internet via my pc using Mocha, and then somehow got disconnected after a while , even though my Mocha program was still running.

Then when i try to connect again to the email on my 7book i keep getting a "Timed out" error, or if trying to connect
with Opera i get a message " Network problem"

I know that my Mocha account settings are correct , as i would never have connected in the first place.

I thought there may be a setting some where that may be diconnecting me after a period of time . and also a setting that waits a little longer so i don't get Timed out so quickly.

Any Ideas??

It sounds as though your time-out setting needs to be higher. Check your settings in Control Panel > Internet. I have the "if idle, stay online for..." setting at the maximum of 59 minutes. I also have auto switch-off for the Psion itself disabled, but I guess that wasn't your problem. Mine normally holds up for as long as I want - hours sometimes - using the above setting.

If a Mocha connection fails, then in my experience it's always necessary to close everything and start again. Close Mocha, re-launch it, then make the connection again from the Psion.

I have found it impossible to connect with Mocha from within Opera, so that's not surprising - I've stopped worrying about it! It's not a big deal, as I can connect by any other method - e-mail, Messenger, nICQ, The Dialer, etc.

Yeah you right - actually i had to close down Mocha completely to get it working again - ( not just disconnect and connect ). so it seems the Mocha program was the problem.

Hmmm -I managed to connect by opening Opera - although as you say it doesn't really matter what program you use to connect with.
