Thumbs up 1st RMA experience with Garmin

The leaves from my MCX connector have started falling off and I loose satellite reception when I hit a pothole (of which there is no scarcity on Californian roads ). So, I called up Garmin, listened to the nice classical music for 20 minutes and then the tech support guy - John offered to ship me a new one at no extra cost. Amazing service!!!!! Way to go, Garmin.

Maybe

SSaibal,

Maybe we should ask for a feature built into the Que where we can "mark" the potholes and upload them to CalTrans?

And then have them (Caltrans) close many lanes and thus hold up my commute ? Nah! I will do it just before I travel out of this area for a looooong vacation (hope so) and let my fellow bay-areans handle the delays

But, seriously where is the money to repair the potholes ? Unless the california state start producing "terminator" movies, where can we get the money.

Thumbs down

I agree on the good service,
But that's all about it. I bought a product from Garmin and it fails to function after couple months. I don't praise Garmin for this.

During the recall election there was a Proposition ( I thing 55 or 56) that was supposed to assure that Transportation based funds were supposed to be earmarked for Transportation and not possibly redirected to the "general" fund.

It got voted down - but not by me.

I travel too much to see all of these transportation dollars spent on other things. This goes all the way back to governor Jesse Unruh so it was an issue long before I was voting but not before I was "pothole" suffering.

Arnold was in favor of that propostion as I recall. With all of the reruns of his movies on TV he must be racking in the residuals. Which is fine since he's not cashing his 160K salary checks.

None of us were voting when Jesse Unrah was governor; he was speaker of the assembly. He ran for Governor in 1962 or 66 but he got beat. Might have been by Ronald Reagan, I don't remember.
