MP3's on Zire 31...wierd "blub" noises?

Using a Zire 31, I installed a RAM Disk program (basically an memory card emulator) and used a command line app to convert MP3s to PDBs. After hotsyncing the unit, I transfered the PDB to the virtual disk and renamed it to .MP3.

Both RealPlayer and PocketTunes recognized the song properly, but niether of them seemed to play it properly. RealPlayer made "blub" (bubbly water) sounds every half-second or so. PocketTunes played the song at about twice the speed without changing the pitch.

Now, I assume that these issues are due to the fact that I'm not actually using a real SD card. Can someone who plays MP3s on their Zire 31 with an actualy SD card confirm this?

Thanks!

I'm lost. Why rename the files? I have a 1 gig and 256 SD card and I copy my MP3,s directly to the card and they play great.

Sorry, maybe I was a bit unclear. I converted the MP3 file to a PDB file in order to allow this "hack" to work. This way, the PDB file was synchronized the Palm. I then moved it to the "virtual" card program. It didn't work to put MP3's directlly on it.

Anyway, all I wanted to know is if they play correctly on a real SD card, and, according to you, they do...so, thanks!
