BlackChat, a free ICQ client for Blackberries. (download)
jmIRC, a free IRC client midlet that works on Blackberries.
VNC J2ME, a free remote-control program that works on Blackberries.

I should observe -- Verichat and WebMessenger is able to run continuously 24/7 for 100 hours on one battery charge on my 7280. The Blackberry is capable of always-on Internet access that's even better when you have MDS or TCP/IP. You can get TCP/IP on some BlackBerry networks for free nowadays without MDS. Feel free to go ahead and post separate threads about favourite killer software. I'll accumulate interesting links here as time passes;

This app is pretty cool if you have a color BlackBerry:

WorldCam Viewer

It lets you view webcams around the world.

I don't think you can get a bigger killer app than that multiplayer tetris, it has the obvious drawback of not being readily downloadable, but other than that its great.

I could only find two tetris games for older 95X handhelds: BerrryBlocks and RimTetris

I could not find a 6XXX/7XXX version of these, but an internal copy of wireless tetris is probably floating around (beta?) from what it sounds like from these posts. Hopefully that version will be released to the public eventually.

Terratial Rules

This is the program to get! If you turn off your carrier's screen saver and let the Terratial screenengager go you have the perfect PERSONALIZED screen saver. It rotates through all your images with a "blinds" type of transition. Rendering is unbelievable. This and the eoffice are the best applications I have ever used on any platform. The Terratial ScreenEngager has really made my bb personalized. Worth it at twice the price.
