Jaab, choose the "(not listed)" option, and it will instruct you what to do!

So do any of the 10 people who downloaded ExtrasBarEditor have anything to say about it? Positive or negative - I don't mind! (Silence is the surest sign there is no point in releasing it properly.)

review of extrabarseditor

Chris,

I am still struggling how to run your program. Or I do something wrong, or I should read first a how-to-do instruction.
My first impression is that it is not very logical for the user.
The first question is : choose the icon you wish to move:
According your own answer above, you should enter the option: icon (not listed), which is ALSO THE ONLY OPTION! Why can the program not list all my program icons (which other programs do, like Xtras).
Secondly after choosing OK, I get the dialog: move to position:
Is it not better first to define the icon which you want to move; so ask for Move from position: thirdly it asks you to choose the icon you wish to move. Again I cannot choose the icon, only the option (not listed) is shown, No choice!
Apparantly I am doing something wrong or I donīt get the meaning of this program.

I am sorry to be so negative...

Jaap.

It should be VERY logical (and the one user of it prior to the PDA street post
loved it), however in your case it does not seem to be functioning correctly...

Secondly after choosing OK, I get the dialog: move to position:
At the very worst, it should list the silkscreen icons, followed by "(not
listed)". Choosing "(not listed)" should then show a dialog explaining that you
must first position the desired icon anywhere, using the Control Panel's
Extrabar app

The fact that it isn't even listing the silkscreen icons seems to show that it
has some problem reading the Extrasbar settings file. Could you please tell me
what Psion model you are using, and which country it is for (e.g. English or
German).

FWIW, it works fine on my Netbook & Revo.

Thanks to help from Edo, I hope to have solved the problem. Also, if it DOES run into any more problems, then it should now report that there was a problem!

Please try the attached program.

Many thanks, Chris!!
I always wanted to change the unused email icon with the clock's one
I'm not knowing anything of the HEX codes so I never was able to change the captions before

After 5 days, 21 people have downloaded it, but only 2 have commented on it... Come on guys, surely a few more positive or negative reports! (privately by email if you really hate public posting:-)

Oh, and has anyone tried it on an original Psion 5? (i.e. Not the 5mx) I suspect it won't work, but would be pleased to discover otherwise!

A bit more then a year ago we had a remarkable thread here,
http://www.pdastreet.com/forums/show...g&pagenumber=4

Edo sobbed bitterly about the fact that people is discussing his software (plug-in to Imaging) strenuously whereas no one had taken the courage to download it
That time Chris consoled Edo's depression by pointing out that it's a normal situation: as people have not tried the software, the only way to clarify its quality is a harsh discussion

Now we have a mirror symmetry, when all users after downloading are lost in the dark
Seems as if there are two different groups of users having the most antagonistic modus vivendi
Wondering whether it is a program-related or user-related issue?

Sorry for some exaggeration,
Leonid (Leo)

Leo,

Actually I have a good memory (sometimes!), and recalled that incident when I wrote my last post. But thing is, there is a big difference:

I'm just politely asking if anyone else could respond, but will quite contentedly leave it at that if no-one does! If users don't respond, then it simply means that I may not develop it further, or at least not bother to release further developments. I certainly can't demand that they respond, not least because there may be very good reasons for them not responding (like not tried it yet).

Hi! I have been pointed in the direction of this thread (thanks Jonas) and have installed the program, however all I get is ther error:

SYSRAM1.OPX
OPX does not exist

then the program exits, have I done something wrong?

Running on a Revo 8Mb

-edit-
OK, managed to get a copy of SYSRAM1.OPX from another program, works really well now :-D
