Thanks!

Check out the threads concerning the OS.IMG.
Here's the gist of what to do (mainly copied & pasted from other's posts.)

It is easy of you have a copy of this on a CF Card (usually would have come with the netbook).
You can download it.
Download the OS from http://www.psionteklogix.com/teknet/.../downloads.htm
(You'll need to register for free to Symbian)
and note that you must rename the .IMG file to OS.IMG for it to be recognised by the netBook. Put the file on a CF card.
Remove all batteries (backup and main) - this will reset the whole netbook.
Then replace backup & main battery after a few minutes. Turn Netbook on - it should ask for the OS on a CF card.
Slide the CF card in and all should be well.

Ask if you need any more help.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.

I think I may have misled you with my question, I have restored the jotter programme, I can't seem to restore the information I had in jotter when I do a restore from the PC.

Did you perhaps rename your jotter file at some point? If so, the restore will have created a new blank jotter as the default, but your own datafile should still be lurking in the depths somewhere.

Just a shot in the dark.

Afterthought...

Or perhaps you didn't rename it, but had moved it to a different folder on the netBook? That too would cause a new blank file to be created in the normal location.

There should be a file called Jotter in one of your backups (unless you'ce deliberately changed its location it should be in the Documents folder.)
You can save Jotter files with different names. I sense that confusion comes (as it did with me) when the default created blank file has the same name as the saved file.
So, search through your backups for another file called 'Jotter'. Hint: Look at the file size to see if it is larger than the 1K default file created when jotter starts up for the first time.
If you do find your old file, it might be worth renaming it so it doesn't get written over by default accidentally.

Neuon's nConvert can convert Jotter files to RTF, HTML, and Word format - would that help?

Cheers,
Martin
