Someone was recently showing me a Jornada with a plug in wireless card. It would be great if I could use wifi and internet explorer with my MC218 or my 5mx when I travel to check my emails without having to carry a laptop with me. Is it possible? If so how? Ted
An actual owner of a 5mx please correct me, but I don't think a 5mx is capable of anything wifi. Its CF slot can be used for only storage.
As for the HP Jornada 720, it's a fine machine; I have two. While Psion's ER5 OS is heads above Window CE 3.0, the Jornada can do the cool things like wifi, network printing, and wireless synching. Its hardware is less problematic, and keyboard almost as good as the 5mx. With a Jornada, you're at the mercy of rechargeable batteries, but they're pretty well-made, though not as well made as standard AAs
Go to hpcfactor.com, which is the definitive site for all things CE. The tutorials and documentation are incredibly extensive and the forum is run by helpful people. Caveat: a crash earlier this year has impaired the search engine in the forum. Use key words and choose a shorter time frame when searching for information.
Yes- YOU CAN use a wi-fi pcmcia card for internet connection!!

Sorry gang, but connection to internet through a wi-fi pcmcia card is not only possible, I am doing it right now!
WiFi is possible with HP720, but NOT with Psion 5MX. If you are sure there is a workaround to this problem, please post it here! Many Psion 5MX users will be very greatfull.
You are absolutely right! I was surfing on both the Psion and Hp 720 and forgot which forum I was on. I have NEVER been able to wi-fi on my Psion 5mx !
Too bad too.
For some obscure reason the "Internet Router fuer Psion 5mxPRO" is only listed on the German part of Pulster's site. Three links are provided for additional information, including specific details on Psion setup.
Don't confuse the iRE201 with another of the listed items, the "Psion Infrarot Adapter Redsnake" which is a more common IR link, without networking-facilities.
