Question Problems installing the Sony Clie NR70V Software

Hi,

I recently bought a Sony Clie NR70V. I have Windows NT with Service Pack 6 in my computer. Every time I try to install the Sony Clie CD with the IntelliSync, it exits with a message about not finding the dll portdtct.

I realize that this is the default USB Driver. However, NT does not support USB Port and I need help in finding the best solution.

Please help!

Thanks!
Lux

I've the same problem in the office. however i've the luch to work in a network environment. So i innstalled the same clie s/w on another pc running XP or 98. Then set it up for network sync. On the original NT pc i used the standard Palm software which does not use the USB. Now i'm syncing via the network to the NT machine. Works fine.

Lux,
I am confused? You say that you are aware that NT 4 does not support USB (and it does not. nor can you patch it to do so) but you are trying to install a unit that only syncs to USB. Am I missing something?

Clie on NT

You can obtain a serial cable that works with the Clie. eBay is usually a good place to find them--$5-$15 or so.
