What error messages are you seeing or does it simply not work? I also believe the Tungsten W requires a special head set in order to play MP3 audio and does not have the standard audio out jack. Can anyone confirm this? I had a Tungsten W for about two weeks and vaguely remember not being able to play MP3 audio "out of the box".

I think KimH's right. I use a T3, but had a chance to go over someone else's T|W. The headphone jack is not standard in the way that discman or walkman headphone jacks are standard... the latter use 3.5mm diameter jacks. The headphone jack on the T|W is the proprietary 4-way jack, that is also found on the T|C.
(The T|T3 on the other hand, uses standard 3.5mm jacks, which allows me to plug in my sony street-style 'phones and drown out the rest of the world!!

Not sure about the out-of-the-box mp3 functionality... although i did have it on the T|T3 once i installed the realplayer S/W from the software installer cd that came with the T|T3.

Substitute headsets for Palm Tungsten W

I just discovered that I can't get a replacement phone headset from PalmOne, but I can use one that Fellowes makes for the Nokia 8000 series cell phone. They also make a converter for the Nokia that may (or may not--I haven't tried it yet!) allow you to use the more popular kinds of cell phone headsets.

Perhaps that converter thingy could be used to make the TW work with other headsets and MP3 software somehow?
