Well it’s been fun while it’s lasted but I must announce that my free suite of BB products will no longer be available publicly. I can’t get into the specifics but let’s just say that I don’t have the time or money to deal with legal issues.
At this point in time I've withdrawn all download locations for the software so you will not be able to download them anymore. Any external servers that I was providing are no longer available.
It was a fun ride but it now must come to an end. Thanks to everyone for their kind words about my software. I'm glad you got enjoyment out of it....
This is a really dark day. Deadstick's software has contributed greatly to my love of my 7100t. I would eagerly check these boards 5 times a day to see if anything new had been released. When TMobile finally stopped blocking ports and the weather icons showed up on my Blackberry today screen I was overcome with joy. Every time I send out a quick note on my Blackberry that is spell checked, I say a little thankyou to Deadstick. This sucks. I need a @#$% drink. ;-(
It's now more-or-less safe to post the source code again, assuming just a simple name change for one of the utilities (it was just a simple trademark infringement with just one of the utilities). If you have the BBTools source code, please email me at spamfilter@marky.com. I hereby accept all legal responsibilties of holding source code in proxy until I've transferred it over to a developer that can continue the BBTools project while satisfying the name-change request.
There will be several individuals who are going to try to make a fortune off of Deadstick's bbspellcheck application by changing his code around a little, rebranding it, and then having ridiculous pricing schematics for something that's otherwise free. It's bound to happen and that's just downright pathetic.
I'm not trying to say that this is what happened here. But it's the sad truth about greedy people trying to get rich quick off of other's generous intent.
Let's just remember who reached the finish-line first.
To deadstick:
You'll always be the winner.
Thanks for sharing what you have and for helping out us little guys (and gals) by keeping things functional and free.
