Nice try,but listen to customers next time!
It seemed like the best PDA going until I bought it & found the hype to be way-over the top.Firstly, you cannot use the HSCSD that would enable it to fly thru the web-mainly because cheapasses like Cingular wont enable it!Secondly, the memory is almost as small as they could get away with!Every few minutes(no matter how large the memory card)you have to remove the battery & reboot-EXTREMELY ANNOYING!Mine has been back to the Nokia zoo so many times primarily because they cant grasp how to fix the many small problems with their new java symbianOS(5.07).I dont think Nokia gives a damn now that they have my money!

PERFECT PHONE.
I have had this phone for 4 months and it is the best pda I have ever used. This is a spectacular product. There are some really good deals on EBAY. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3014078243&category=27970

Paper thin screen - Lousy Customer Service
Nice unit until you crack the very fragile screen. It is 1/2 as thick as my old Palms and the case doesn't protect it well. Out of 5 we have 2 broken already in 3 months. Audiovox wants $277 just to fix the glass (screen still works). Since I didn't respond 3 days after they sent the quote it has become theirs! Customer support is lousy, can't read the screen in the car and no manual comes with it (Must print one out). Buy another brand....

An Awesome Device
It's a mobile phone with WAP. It's a PDA with synchronization to the major PC based PIMs. It can get pager-style messages. It can surf the web in full color with images and connect to your e-mail account via dial-up (next generation should support full wireless connectivity). It's not as small as a pager or a small mobile phone but going from 3 devices to one makes it worthwhile. It is different from any of these devices. There is no stylus or touch screen but there is a full QWERTY style keyboard. Navigation is a mix of using a 4-way arrow button, dedicated soft menu buttons, tab key and menus. Mostly intuitive in a short period of time. Setup may involve discussion with your mobile service provide (I have VoiceStream and they are excited and eager to help). Nokia support via Chat is quick, easy and excellent. I LOVE IT!

PDA First, Mobile Phone Second
The Nokia 9290 is amazing. The screen is simply the best on a PDA/Phone combo. Functionality is everything I'm looking for when I travel. The best way to think of this device is as a PDA with mobile phone as a nice extra. For evenings and weekends, when I don't need access to my work files, I prefer the T68i's much smaller form factor, but the Nok9290 serves my day-time purposes very, very well. Additionally, with a growing library of software (available on Nok's website), I believe that functionality not currently available on the Nok9290 will be filled eventually by some fan. Thumbs up!
