about the "access" to DA . . .
You can have as much "access" to DA as you want, but it's the paying for it that's the problem. I'd just as soon go through 1800free411 than bother with accessing DA via the Sidekick.Otherwise, the device is OK, with some connectivity probs.

Its everything you need, If you utilize the internet a lot.
This device is all you necessitate, if your only excitement is to be online and chill, however, if you are looking for features embedded in a palm handheld well, there are just a couple… you can’t IM, send pictures moreover even surf cyber space… and besides you can talk with your people everywhere. It is really light and different from those big laptops that you have to carry like a little baby. This could be placed in your pocket or even placed in its pouch. So if you can’t have fun with it then you are not the person that loves the Internet.

Sidekick is only as good as the service.
First of all this my second Sidekick. I came onboard during the black and white times and have since upgraded to color. I love the phone,features are out of this world! There's everything I need in a phone/PDA, but here in the Baltimore/Washinton DC area,service is "sometimy" to say the least. My calls are dropped while driving (with headphones) constantly. The data signal is weak (in&out). Lets not talk about downloads. When I was in Seattle the phone was great ,however, here on the east..."sigh". Now I'm looking at the Motorola V400. I tried to hang in there hoping the over the air upgrades would work to improve service, but I'm not satisfied to date. Inside buildings your through! Its sad to see others talking on other provider phones, then you look at your Sidekick and there's just no signal!

hmm well i was playing with my friend's sidekick 2day and i was thinking about buying one for my bday but this guy on here says it doesnt work 2/3 places he goes so i dont know, maybe i should get sumthing else, but i liked it cuz i could talk to my friens on AIM, oh well

Not completely thought through
Nice device. The only problem, the screen doesn't tilt! C'mon who are these geniuses? The basic feature of a PDA with a keyboard is the ability to put it flat on the table so you can type. Even slow typing is better than having to constantly hold the device and type with your thumbs! This is a stupid oversight in the development process. Hope they fix it!
